As the deadline on submissions for SCAN'2012 proceedings, i.e. December 30, 2012, approaches, some participants of the symposium are applying to Organizing Committee with requests to extend this deadline in order to make it possible for them to finalize, polish and thoroughly prepare their texts. It is decided that the new extended deadline for your submissions should be February 10, 2013.

At the same time, some participants have already submitted their papers bearing in mind the old deadline December 30, 2012. We start their processing and, hopefully, they will be published in the earlier issues.

The annual meeting of IEEE P1788 interval standardization working group will take place on September 28, 2012, at 15-00, in the conference-hall of Institute of computational technologies SD RAS (Room 411) at the address 6 Lavrentjev ave., Novosibirsk 630090. Chairperson is Prof. Nathalie Revol (ENS Lyon, France). It is planned to organize web-broadcasting of the meeting.

The awardee of the biannual R.E. Moore prize for applications of interval analysis is announced.
This year, the prize is awarded to Prof. Luc Jaulin from Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees Bretagne (Brest, France) for his work on interval methods for map building and localization of underwater robots. According to tradition, Prof. Luc Jaulin presents his results in a plenary talk at the symposium SCAN'2012.

Participants are kindly requested to submit applications for their hotel reservation until August 15, 2012. After this deadline, the organizing committee cannot guarantee booking rooms in the hotel "Zolotaya Dolina".

Note the new prices for accommodation in "Zolotaya Dolina", which have been set by Presidium of Siberian Dept. of Russian Academy of Sciences on June 14, 2012. The prices remain unchanged only for employees of Russian Academy of Sciences being in business trip. For other categories of guests, the prices raised considerably.

Application and abstract submission for SCAN'2012 is finished.
At the moment, 112 persons have registered at the web-site of SCAN'2012 as participants.
Among these, 68 are from exUSSR, and 44 are from abroad.
94 abstracts of the talks are submitted.

At the insistence of participants, the deadline for application and abstract submission is extended until May 7, 2012.
