Using FPGA technology for high performance data processing in systems of active geophysical monitoring.

Reporter: Minahudin R.

The algorithm of flow convolution is applied to wide specter of geophysical problems. Computing convolution at the moment of experiment helps researchers to see immediately if the experiment is successful. The implementation of convolution requires high performance, compact size and a tiny power consumption at the same time. FPGA meets these demands. It makes it possible to construct computationally intensive implementations by exploiting parallelism inherent to the problem itself. The descriptions of the designed architecture of flow convolution computing device and its implementation using Artix-7 are presented.
